Kyle joined the Lakeland Engineering team in Minneapolis just over a year ago as our Automation Specialist. He attended UW-La Crosse and got a degree in Physics. His passion for innovation and the endless possibilities in the automation industry sparked his interest in this field. He enjoys exploring new applications and continuously learning about emerging technologies.
Expertise and Certifications
Kyle best describes his role at Lakeland as helping our sales team find the right components for their customers’ applications and ensuring our customers get the most out of them. He is a go-to resource for all Lakeland customers with VFD, PLC, and HMI-related questions and concerns.
As a certified Yaskawa, ABB, Lenze, and Schneider drives specialist, Kyle also holds certifications in IDEC and Unitronics PLCs and HMIs. He actively pursues additional training to expand his expertise and certifications.
Collaboration and Problem Solving
When asked about a recent experience helping a customer, Kyle shared:
“I recently went to a customer who had to switch from ABB’s obsoleted ACS355 to their ACS380. We wired up their controls, programmed the drive to their specifications, and successfully ran their machine as they had designed.”
Kyle also values the collaboration he experiences daily:
“All our suppliers have some interesting and unique solutions to any issue that I’ve encountered. It’s been a fun learning experience working with all the dedicated suppliers and the engineering teams we have at our disposal and seeing these solutions in action.”
His favorite part of working at Lakeland is working alongside customers, suppliers, and coworkers to optimize the designs customers bring to the team.

Life Outside of Work
Outside of work, Kyle enjoys spending time with his fiancé, Brianna and their two dogs, Fuego and Duke. He can also be found staying active at the gym and working on his golf game.
We appreciate Kyle’s dedication to our customers and his commitment to learning and innovation. Thanks for all you do, Kyle!
